MISSION
STATEMENT
In
a cooperative effort, staff, students, and community are
committed to building a strong foundation for the
advancement of learning, providing a motivation and
positive environment to meet the diverse needs and
abilities of the students at Red Hawk Elementary School
School Accountability Report Card.
POSITIVE
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Our programs and practices are
planned to promote student success. Student work is
valued and published in classrooms and in the hallways
of our school. Students have the opportunity to earn
recognition through demonstrating
exemplary academic achievement, excel-ling at
Accelerated Reader as well as exhibiting character
traits such as trustworthiness, honesty, and respect.
School rules are outlined in the Heroes Handbook in the
primary grades and in the Reminder Binders that the
fourth and fifth graders use.

QUALITY
OF INSTRUCTION |
|
TVUSD aligns
its curriculum with state standards and
provides enrichment activities at the site
level to support instruction. The District
also holds a philosophy that each school
principal should be the Instructional Leader
on that campus.
As such, principals take an active role in the
learning process at each TVUSD school,
spending much of their day in the classroom.
TVUSD teachers are evaluated and given areas
for improvement by their principals. To aide
in this endeavor, administrators are trained
in evaluation skills.
This training is designed to help
administrators evaluate their staff in a
manner that will produce better teaching in
the classroom and thus enhance student
success. Staff development days enhance this
quest for excellence by giving teachers the
tools needed to succeed in an on-going manner.
